pessimistic about Christmas
2017
The Association of the Merchants
of Historical Xàbia is not very
positive about the expectations
for the Christmas campaign this
year.
In fact, its president, Juan
Planelles, predicted that it will be
“terrible”.
Planelles based his claim on
November data, which he said,
“reflect bad sales, something
that is common in the old town.”
According to him, close to 50% of
the houses and business premises
in this part of the town are empty.
According to Planelles “we have
to fix the historic centre so that
people want to come, both to start
a business to buy in these places,
and to live in the neighborhood.”
