NOISE in SUPERMARKETS
As promised we set out to examine
the muzak in Spanish supermarkets
only to find that they are all playing
deeply offensive and HORRIBLE
rubbish with the exception (in Jávea)
of QuickSave & Costa Blanca at
Arenal where things are rather quieter.
Apart from the offensive noise, the
royalties have to be paid on all these
unwelcome intrusions (including
radio and in both shops & restaurants)
and these charges are, in turn,
added to everything you purchase.

This is why there is silence in ALDI
& LIDL (did anyone ever complain
?!!!). With 66% of the population
either hating this noisy rubbish, or
(the lucky ones) not noticing it, you
would think the Finance Directors of
these stores would stop this dreadful
waste of your money (as they did
at Gatwick airport, where they used
to pay royalties of €600 a day, after
a massive public opinion poll told
them to shut it down !). So please, be
a good citizen and tell the cashier
every time you leave these stores !
