1. Stop mozzie bites itching, drastic but works. Get a teaspoon and a
mug of boiling water, heat the teaspoon in the water, place the back
of the spoon on the bite as hot as you can bear it. This is a bit of an
endurance test but the heat breaks down the itchy chemical.
2. Dry lace mats on a glass table it’s easy to stretch them into the right
shape. A melamine or granite top works just as well.
3. Suspend old CDs in fruit trees, the flashing reflection keeps birds
away. One can also use streamers of metallic wrapping paper.
4. As it cools down ! If a sheet is not quite warm enough at
night, try a single blanket inside a duvet cover. Also useful
when you are short of a duvet.
5. Wash large fabric lampshades in the bath,
fill with warm soapy water be careful its not
too hot as braid is very often stuck on and
may come loose. Use contact adhesive if you
have to glue it back on !
