Fortunately, this difficult situation
was resolved in record time so that
the tourist season, on which so
many Xàbia families depend, was
not affected, as well as meeting the
needs of the local residents who
live here throughout the year. I
wish to thank all of the council
departments involved and all the
businesses and professionals who
participated in the cleaning and
repair work.
On the other hand, these storms
reaffirmed the necessity and
rationale for closing the Granadella
ravine to traffic. In retrospect, this
measure avoided what could have
been a major disaster. Also,
the feedback about the free bus
service that provided access to
that beach was excellent. Both
users, local businesses and a large
number of people from Xàbia
have expressed their satisfaction
with the service.
