Our gastronauts at lunch at
Les Bretonnes Beach
LES BRETONNES BEACH
MORAIRA : Cala de l’Andrago (off,
left, at the 1st small roundabout
southward on the Moraira-Calpe
road). Transferred (early June)
from opposite the La Senieta
Theatre to this lovely spot
overlooking the sea. We were
overwhelmed by the beauty of the
décor and the charming reception
(in both English & French).
This new opening establishes
Les Bretonnes as the No.1 fish
establishment for many miles
around (perhaps it was already
?). Their range of fish, especially
of lobsters and oysters, is quite
astonishing.
The menu even
includes a superb fish soup without
shellfish and they have potted
shrimps! To my especial delight
the wonderful wine list offered a
red Sancerre (chilled, of course)
and the wonderful, delicious
Menetou-Salon from near Bourges
in the upper Loire (both €24).
The four of us ate fabulously well,
including these delicious wines,
for around €50 each. Matchless
- go treat yourselves; it’s only a
little more than so many ordinary
beach restaurants!
