‘ Arrivals ’ is a tale of utter chaos created by two ladies and their answer phone when they kindly offer to pick-up their German friend at the airport . Enjoying the chaos , one wonders if the ladies Chris played by Lesley Davis and Nikki played by Caroline Drewet- Mansell , ever comprehend what one is saying to the other and if they are remotely capable of making anything approaching a sensible decision .

While their German friend , Dietrich played by Martin Thornhill , keeps his cool and remains impeccably polite and grateful -goodness knows for what – they become more and more frustrated , angry and desperate . The arrival of Nikki ’ s mother , played by Brenda Bates , does nothing to dampen the fiery climate .

‘ Departures ’ is set in Gatwick airport and with some help from some off-stage foreign children our laughs are supplied by four holiday makers whose flight to Majorca has been delayed . Rosemary , played by Lindsay Johnson , is the do-gooder from hell . She is travelling with her non-too-bright daughter Mandy , played by Debbie Saunders . Rosemary succeeds in making pompous nationalist Dennis , played by Gary Johnson , almost suicidal . His wife , Shelia played by Rosemary Brown has become impervious to his extreme nationalism and accustomed to his ill temper and is determined to enjoy her holiday come what may .
