At CALPE ' s ( fishing ) HARBOUR : The harbour at CALPE is a great place ( sic ) for fish ! Any restaurant will entice you in with marvellous displays of fresh fish . Nothing like this anywhere else we know of ( except Dubai !). Strongly recommended .

Outside the Ermita supermarket ( by the little church on the Jávea to Jesús Pobre road ) at 10:00h on Saturday is to be found an enterprising Dutchman ( Arjen ) who sells fresh martjes , smoked eel , rollmops , smoked mackerel , buckling ( a herring smoked whole ), smoked trout and potted shrimps . There are no frozen HERRINGS for the moment due to change of supplier in Holland .
