Dear Friends
We leave behind us an autumn
that was disfigured by the fires
that ravaged the Granadella area
and the houses and plots of many
of our citizens. In 48 terrible hours
we lost one of our most valuable
natural zones and put at risk the
lives and property of hundreds
of Xàbia’s residents. The wound
that was opened in all of us on
September 4th will take time to
heal.

Yet at the same time, in the midst
of disaster, something happened
that we will never forget. I was
personally in the Advanced
Command Post of the Firefighters
throughout the duration of
the crisis and I witnessed the
wonderful demonstration of
effort, unity and solidarity that
our people deployed.
