1. To stop potatoes, rice and pasta from boiling over add half a teaspoon of oil to
the water.
2. When disposing of an old washing machine, take the glass out of the door, it’s
easy to unscrew, it makes a very strong and attractive salad or mixing bowl.
3. When removing curtain hooks from curtains for washing, use a fineliner
indelible marker pen and make a small mark to show where the hooks are to go
back.
4. Make a master shopping list on card, of all the regular supermarket
shopping you do. Use this to check supplies and make your weekly
list.
5. If you sit for long periods on an office chair and the base
of your spine is sore, buy an orthopaedic cushion in the
shape of a ring doughnut. Use an ordinary cushion cover
then it doesn’t look so ‘medical’.
