Restaurante SUR (at GRANADELLA BEACH) :  ...at the beautiful Granadella creek (down off the Cabo de la Nao and the No.1 beach of the Marina Alta); certainly the best fish restaurant in Jávea (they own their own boat and sometimes have an extraordinary variety !).  Our absolute favourite for fish and a beautiful location.  Sensational puds !  Highly rated (7½/10) in Spain's Gastronomía Guide.  Best to book. Tel : 96 577.1612  /  July/Aug daily 10-23h / otherwise open lunch only (closed mid-Dec - end Feb).  http://www. restaurantesur.com/ FOOTNOTES ON MUZAK YES - NOISE (ALWAYS) CONTINUES TO ANNOY INCODNITO < Fish 'n' Chips > : Jávea, Arenal beach, on main car park.  It is not usual for such an establishment to find its way onto this list but it has proved to be very reliable with both fresh fish and chips of excellent quality.  Tel : 96 577.0068 / f. Sunday. Petrie Hosken on LBC 97.3 Radio (London) recently did an hour-long programme about piped music, following up a recent survey that found at least 50% of people would walk out of shops with it. [Sarah Cawley from the British Retail Consortium, as might be expected, tried to ridicule such reactions as being those of just a few 'sensitive' folk.] But the emails that Petrie Hosken read generally supported the survey's findings. One person said she did not mind piped music in principle but agreed it was too loud, a couple of people liked it, but at least 20 other emails that were read out supported the survey's stance. Petrie indicated that there were many more similarly supportive text messages and e-mails.   Yet again, the smooth-talking, well paid proponents of piped music have been shown to be strangers to the truth, to put it gently.  [ Meantime look forward to a dose of Bay Radio next time you shop !!  Ed. ] Front page headline in RTN : www.roundtownnews.com/ rtn-newsflash/item/44154-noise-annoys. html Under this front page headline in the RTN (Round Town News, 10th October 2013) your compiler/editor was interviewed by Jack Troughton on the subject of noise - a matter that irritates all of us (at least some of the time) and with special reference to the scourge of muzak in restaurants which, as statistics have revealed, is loathed by over 34% of the population and not noticed by over 30% (the lucky ones !).  This means that 65% of people can do without it or - put the other way around - muzak only pleases 35% !!  How this 35% must hate music to tolerate the junk that is played to them in public places.  Copyright royalties paid on these offensive noises are all to be found on your bill !  You actually pay to suffer.    Did you ever hear anyone asking for muzak ?  NO !  Did you ever hear anyone object to it being turned off ?  NO !  E & O E : 20160630 © 2016  J.G. DEACON So please .........Keep up the fight and remember Comments welcome - to : gastro@ campobello-javea.es 66% of people either hate it, or don't notice it, therefore, since  only a minority want it, please take every opportunity to object.
