Dear Friends,
When you read these lines another fantastic
edition of the Sant Joan Fogueres Fiestas
will be behind us. I hope that you enjoyed
it with your friends and family and that you
have participated in the joy and the good
atmosphere with which this event animates
our town every year.
The Fogueres fiesta serves to celebrate the
arrival of summer and to have fun after a year
of hard work, but also to strengthen the ties
that unite us.
During these days, we are all part of the life
of our town no matter whether we were born
here or somewhere else in the world and that
is the community spirit that must prevail in
our civic relations.
Moreover, as it does every summer, our town
prepares for tens of thousands of people who
come to seek, with us, a place to enjoy a rest,
the scenery, the culture, the gastronomy and
leisure activities.
Foreword
from the Mayor of Jávea,
José Chulvi
This movement is fundamental to our
economy and we need to make it compatible
with a respect for our heritage, and excellence
in services, both public and private.
I am pleased to announce that this year our
coast continues to fly four blue flags which
distinguish it as one of the best places in the
Mediterranean.
To have everything ready, we have completed
the public works on Via Augusta and have
enhanced the beaches and coves with buoys
and bathrooms, as well as channels marked
out for safely practising paddle surfing and
kayaking.
