AMUX follows in the footsteps of Al-Azraq The association Amics the Museu de Xàbia (AMUX) focussed ts activities in May to learning more about the Islamic Era in the region. Writer Just Selles, who gave an illustrated talk about his book “La Montaña Azul - Crónica del visir al-Azraq”. This novel, a very personal work of fiction, tells the story of the man commonly known as Al-Azraq “Blau” who died fighting for the castle of Alcoy in 1276 and had a love hate relationship with Jaume I. Following this, members AMUX organised a bus tour to the Vall d’Alcalà see the field and walk “in the footsteps of Al-Azraq”. The walk was guided in English and Castilian by archaeologists Ximo Bolufer and Josep Castelló, who led the group along the riverbanks to visit l’Atzubieta, a Moorish village abandoned. Finally, the group tasted a special Arabic food at the restaurant La Font d’Alcala.
