Another element that defines our quality of life is health care. I can announce that, together with the Councillor for Health, Pilar Zamora, I have met with the commissioner in Denia to insist that health services in Xàbia be reinforced during the summer months with the greatest influx of people. Consequently we will soon have operational an Arenal Health Centre, which will provide a more proactive service, avoiding long waits. And now to address a problem that concerns us all, the tiger mosquito; I have asked the Alicante Provincial Government to provide a budget to fight this plague. We are aware that the presence of the tiger mosquito can cause severe discomfort, but it is an issue that cannot be addressed alone by the Town Hall. For this we need the cooperation of other public administrations and home-owners, to comply with the advice provided by the Department of Environment. This year we started work earlier to ensure we are ready for the summer campaign.
