Xàbia opens
a new night
tourist route
that includes
traditional
dances
The Department of Tourism Xàbia has premiered
a new thematic tourist. This is "The night villa.
Experiences of the nineteenth century," a night
tour through the historic centre that incorporates
traditional dances and sound effects.
The intention is to remember the golden age of the
raisin, identifying the architecture of the stately
homes that were enriched with trade, with examples
like the Bolufer house, the current museum or
the house of Tena, as well as key scenarios for
production this prized fruit as is the riurau.
The premiere was in German and was a great
success with more than 25 spectators following the
guide's explanations, interspersed with dances by
the Grup de Danses Portitxol, which also allowed
a display of the costumes of the time.
Another effect that brought the nineteenth century
to life was the reproduction of the various bell
sounds, used to warn the population of deaths,
fiestas or danger.
The premiere of the English guided event will be
on May 25, while the Castilian will debut on June
27.
This night route, as well as hiking, gastronomic or
dramatised tours on offer every weekend from early
April, is one of the proposals from the Tourism
Department led by José Chulvi to extend the natural
Tourist Season. May also sees the return of the
other night route, "The Secrets of Medieval Xàbia"
which was a great success last year. For more
information, registration or special reservations
