Xàbia schoolchildren participate in Campaign Eyecare The Visión y Vida Association in Javea is developing a campaign for eyecare awareness and problem prevention - "See to Learn". This is includes free vision screening for school children between 6 and 12 years who wish to help in the collection of data for the first statewide study on children's visual health. The Department of Education has supported this campaign which runs until May 31 and aims to show parents, families and teachers the importance of protecting the visual health of young children. There are studies that show that one in three cases of school failure is associated with poor vision and today, 50% of children who could be helped by the use of optical equipment are not, due to parents being unaware of the problem. If your child is a quck writer, but slow at copying or is quck to read books, but no good at "eye spy" spotting street signs and shop adverts - then booking them in for an eye examination is very important.
