Mealtime
Roger Priddy
Bright, simple, touch-and-feel
photographs set on contrasting
backgrounds help to teach the
concept of mealtimes.
Farm
Felicity Brooks
This book illustrates different
activities on a farm as well as night
time animals. Each animal or object
is drawn on its own for easy
identification, and then drawn within
the context of the activity it belongs
in. For example, a sheep is drawn on
its own, then it is shown grazing on a
field.
The book features different fruits
and foods and shows the difference
between drinking and eating.
It compliments concepts in a child's
daily life, helps to increase or
strengthen his vocabulary, and with
its textures - increases his sensory
awareness.
Simple but very effective.
The book ends with a summary of all
the sights and animals in the book giving your child the opportunity to
go over all that has been learnt from
the book.
3d models discreetly placed, add
another dimension and a greater
sense of realism to the bold and
bright illustrations that fill the book.
Flaps help to identify the section
your child may want to go to and
also make it easier to turn over the
pages. This is a well designed and
thought through book.
