So, why aren’t you going?” … Martha brushed another tear from her face. “The bus was already pulling away when I rounded the corner. I’m not as young as I used to be . . . couldn’t have caught up if I had tried.” …she found herself with an overwhelming need to help the older woman. Dani‘s heart filled with compassion for the older woman. She sat staring across the street, her insides twisting with emotion, wondering what to do. Closing her eyes, she prayed “Lord, help.” Even before she finished, she heard a text come in to her cell phone. It read: Need to reschedule meeting!
