I contacted the landlord, but he didn't know anything about them. It seemed incredible... Was she an angel? As we looked forward to the Christmas holiday, I watched out for our neighbor and her little girl. I had a special gift for each of them. But I hadn't seen them again after that fateful night. So I went up to their flat and peeked in through the window. The place was empty, as if nobody had even been there. I contacted the landlord, but he didn't know anything about them. It seemed incredible; I wanted to thank them again. The more I thought about it, I remembered she had said they wouldn’t be home and would be out of town that night. Why had they come back, and where had they gone? I realized their short stay had possibly saved us all in an old house that could have gone up in flames so quickly. A Thanksgiving Day doesn't go by that I don’t think of the young mother and her entrance and exit. I know God brings many people into our lives for various reasons. Was she an angel? Perhaps. Each Thanksgiving I continue to remember an old house with young children, and that unforgettable night. I especially give thanks for the messengers He sent, allowing us to celebrate many more Thanksgiving Days together… a special blessing from Him. “Do not forget to show hospitality to strangers, for by so doing, some people have shown hospitality to angels without knowing it."
