Emem Washington is a wife, mother singer, songwriter, speaker, teacher, author, dream ambassador and attorney. She is a social media strategist to faith based entrepreneurs. But at one time in her past, her story was very different. She suffered 2 miscarriages and 2 still-births before her first child. She went broke and lost her house to foreclosure. She has been through a divorce, even though she doesn’t believe that is the way a marriage should end. She was forced to move back in with her parents as a single mom with 2 children and 2 advanced degrees including a doctorate. She felt lost, hopeless and trapped, even after doing all the right things. But today her story is different. How did she get out of those depths? EW: Thank you for the honor. JP: You have been through so much. Were you a Christian at the time you were going through those difficult circumstances? EW: Yes I was. JP: People ask God “why” in difficult times. Can you in any way put a finger on the reason why you went through those difficulties?
