are some of the most beautiful in the world. If you're up for an underground adventure, stop by Cathedral Caverns. It is known for one of the world's largest stalagmites. You will be in awe of the massive flow stone walls, frozen waterfalls, and stalagmite forests that you will encounter on your approximate four thousand foot trek into the underworld. If you prefer to stay above ground, check out the U.S. Space and Rocket Center in beautiful Huntsville, Alabama. Get up close to the SaturnV rocket and be amazed by the orbiter Pathfinder. There are also rides, tours, and an Imax movie theater for you to enjoy. Last, but certainly not least . . . The U.S. Space and Rocket Center is proud to be home to the nation’s prestigious Space Camp! Maybe visiting one of Alabama's beautiful white sand beaches is something you would fancy. There you can relax and watch the surf lap at the shoreline, be thrilled by the playful dolphins just off shore, or start (or add to) your own collection of seashells. You can also kick it up a notch and enjoy such activities as, parasailing, scuba diving, or some of the nation’s best deep- sea fishing. You might even want to “walk on the wild side” and visit the Birmingham Zoo. Or, go antiquing in one our picturesque towns, such as Mentone, on Lookout Mountain. Maybe you would like to experience true southern pride and take in a college football game down in T-town (Tuscaloosa) or on the plains of Auburn. You might decide to immerse yourself in Alabama’s rich southern heritage and join in on the many festivals held throughout the state each year. Whatever ever your interests are, whether it is camping in the mountains or splashing around in the surf, you will find something that you will love.
