Weifang City, a prefecture-level city located
in the center of Shandong, is the budding

CULTURE AND TOURISM
Although the Industrial Development Zone
has made remarkable progress in technologies
and industry, the province of Shandong
and Weifang City have even more to offer
inquisitive visitors in terms of fine arts and
riveting culture. It goes without saying that
China has one of the oldest, richest cultures
in the world and most of today’s recognizable,
still tangible historical artifacts are of Chinese
origins. The significance of China’s culture
and values permeate through the entirety of
Weifang, which is considered the kite capital
of the world and allegedly the birthplace of the
kite itself. The Weifang World Kite Museum
and the Mei Village provide the most insight on
kite making’s extensive effect on the regional
culture of Weifang: year after year, the citizens
of Weifang enjoy kite flying as a leisure activity
and the city produces more than 60%, of the
kites purchased all over the world. The cultural
activities available in Weifang are not limited
to kite history, the city is also home to stunning
wood block and print art, museums filled
with priceless relics, even a dinosaur national
park in Zhucheng that is filled with recent
prehistoric discoveries and a new species of
dinosaur native only to the area.

ジャーとして楽しみ、市内では世界で販売される凧
の実に60％以上が生産されています。濰坊市で体
験できる文化活動は凧の歴史を学ぶだけではあり
ません。濰坊市は精緻な木版年画の故郷としても知
られ、
また、貴重な彫刻を多数収蔵する博物館もあ
ります。
さらに、市内の諸城市には恐竜博物館があ
り、近年発見された先史時代の化石や、
この地でし
か見つかっていない新種の恐竜化石などが多く展
示されています。
