月30日に行われた首脳会談は、
安倍首相
とジャマイカのポーシア・シンプソン＝ミラ
ー首相が行う会談としては通算3回目であ
り、2013年11月に日・ジャマイカ外交関
係樹立50周年を記念するためにポーシア・シンプソ
ン＝ミラー首相が日本を訪問したことへの返礼の意
味もありました。
この首脳会談では、
二国間のみなら
ず日・カリブ共同体
（カリコム）
との多国間で高官レベ
Mr. Shinzo Abe paid an official
working visit to Jamaica in late
September this year. It was the first
ever visit of Japanese prime minister
to Jamaica since the establishment
of diplomatic relations between the
two countries fifty-one years ago.

ジ
ャマイカを公式訪問しました。
日本
の首相によるジャマイカ訪問は、51
年前に両国間に外交関係が樹立し
て以来、初めてのことです。

he 30th September meeting marked the
third summit between the two prime
ministers and was a reciprocation of the visit
of Prime Minister Simpson Miller to Japan
in November 2013 to mark the celebration of the 50th
anniversary of the establishment of Japan/Jamaica
diplomatic relations. The significance of high-level
bilateral and multilateral (Japan-CARICOM) policy
dialogues was stressed during this summit and the
prime ministers reaffirmed their commitment to
strengthen ties through enhanced communication.

The two prime ministers discussed, at length,
the shared history of the two nations and their
warm and friendly cooperative relations. Both
leaders reaffirmed their similarity as maritime
nations, which face common challenges and
uphold shared basic values such as freedom,
democracy, respect for basic human rights,
and the rule of law. To this end, they reflected
on the deepening of the existing bilateral
relationship in various areas and affirmed
their intention to strengthen the Partnership
between Japan and Jamaica (J-J Partnership)
with focus on the following three pillars:
01.
Cooperation towards sustainable development
including overcoming vulnerabilities particular
to Small Island Developing States.
02. Deepening
and expanding bonds founded
on exchanges and friendship.
03. Cooperation
in addressing challenges of the
international community.
The two prime ministers also oversaw the
signing of a Cultural Grant to the Institute of
Jamaica and a Memorandum of Understanding
between The University of the West Indies
(Mona, Kingston) and Sophia University.
Additionally, Prime Minister Abe also visited the
Bob Marley Museum and the National Heroes Park
where he participated in a wreath laying ceremony.

両首脳は情
報交換・意志疎通の促進を通じて関係の強化をはか
る方針を再確認しました。
両首脳は、
日本とジャマイカが分かち合う歴史と温か
く友好的な両国の協力関係を振り返りました。両首
脳は、
共通の問題に直面していると同時に、
自由や民
主主義、基本的人権の尊重、法の支配といった共通
の基本的価値観を有する海洋国家としての類似性
について再確認しました。
この目的を達成するため、
両首脳は既存の二国間関係をさまざまな分野で深
化させることについて検討し、
「日・ジャマイカ・パート
ナーシップ
（J－Jパートナーシップ）」
を以下の3つの
柱を重視して強化していく方針で一致しました。
01.
小島嶼開発途上国に特有の脆弱性の克服を含む
持続的発展に向けた協力。
02. 交流と友好に根ざした絆の深化と拡大。
03. 国際社会の諸課題の解決に向けた協力。
両首脳はまた、一般文化無償資金協力
「ジャマイカ
研究所展示・視聴覚機材整備計画」に関する交換
公文と
「学術協力に係る上智大学と西インド諸島大
学との間の了解覚書」
の署名にも立ち会いました。
さらに、安倍首相はボブ・マーリー博物館を視察し
たほか、国立英雄公園での戦没者慰霊碑献花式に
出席しました。
