Optical Prism January 2015 | Page 10

From the editor Looking Ahead and Giving Back The New Year means many things – resolutions, new habits, new business practices, new looks and new approaches to life. Eyewear is a reflection of these. From finding a new style to finding ways to make glasses benefit more than one individual, the January/February issue of Optical Prism can help you do all of these things. This past November I was given the privilege of joining Canadian Vision Care on their latest trip to Jamaica. In the heart of Montego Bay, I discovered just how giving this industry can be, as a group of volunteers checked the eyes of nearly 1,000 people over the span of a few days. Any glasses that were prescribed were donated by industry companies. From the lenses and frames to the equipment and supplies, the eyewear industry has been working together quietly to ensure that people without access to care are able to see. As a new year dawns, the need is still there. Resources and supplies are still needed to continue this amazing work and keep costs down. Read about how you can be a part of this program and make someone else's new year brighter. Looking for hot new looks and styles to share with your patients? We have assembled a collection of some of the most popular looks for 2015. We also present frames that compliment the 2015 Pantone Colour of the Year, Marsala.
