Yaven Spinacat A2-3231 sold at the Landmark Classic Select Sale for $ 130,000 presented by Rob Leach of Tamworth , New South Wales on behalf of John and Jen Corbett to Hughes Pastoral in Queensland
The explosive 2018 Landmark Classic Campdraft and Sale was conducted at the world class Australian Equine Livestock & Events Centre from Saturday the 3rd of February , 2018 until to Sunday the 11th of February , 2018 .
Over the nine days the Landmark Classic drew over thirty thousand people through the gates . While sales reached over an outstanding seven million dollars for the second year in a row .
The Landmark Classic saw three massive days of the finest campdraft competition on offer , before two full days of pre-works leading into the four days of sales at the world reknown auction .
The first day of competition of the 2018 Landmark Classic started early with a whopping 270 runs in the exciting Round One of the Martins Haulage Open Campdraft . With three of the Classic vendors running scores of 90 ' s ; the bay son of Dual Rey ( IS ) Q-52538 and Spinning Garter Q-44186 , Reys Ya Garter Q-59611 , ridden by Hugh Miles for Corey Holden , Roxy , ridden by owner Jock Weston and the buckskin son of Acres Destiny ( imp ) Q-43325 and Jessies Liberty Belle Q-9550 , Acres Liberty Beau Q-43325 , ridden by owner Allan Young .
Next was the Mavericks Masters with forty-three combinations making their runs in the first go round . QXH Dual N Rooster Q-62021 ( Dual Jazz ( imp ) Q-57414 x Darlin Lil Rooster Q-41251 ), ridden by Noel Chiconi dominated the round with an impressive 89 points which saw them go into the final in the lead .
Jazzys Miss Sable Q-62804 ( Jazzy Little Spin Q-34339 x Peppys Sable Q-17773 ) with Michael O ' Donohoe and Ben Hall aboard Gordon ' s Convey , owned by Angus Rain , both marked 88 points each to finish next in Round One .
The action and skill displayed in the prestigious Landmark Classic Campdraft didn ' t let the spectators or competitors down for a second in 2018 . In Round One the campdraft industry stood up and took note of the incredible runs from two hundred young horses purchased at the previous Landmark Classic Sale . With a blistering score of 91 Secret Time , ridden by Ben Hall for owner Ken Frost led the way going into the second half of Round One on Day Two .
