Jankriti International Magazine/ जनकृसत अंतरराष्ट्रीय पसिका FIELD SITES For the field site, I have chosen my own area, New Usmanpur. This region exists in the North Eartern part of Delhi. This is the area which is not very well-known to people. Like the usual structure, the Jatts or Muslims or comparatively well off “lower” caste people reside in the centre part of the region. However, a large number of “lower” caste people live in the outer part of the region. Largely, we can say that the people of this area has developed economically but still remained backward in social and cultural terms. There are a large number of people who migrate particularly from Bihar state to work as they can find a small room at a comparatively lower cost. There are women who earn by producing many different things at home such as hair clips, Rakhi, birthday cap and so on. They do work at a very cheap rate. One can also find a lot of home tuitions without any nameplates or advertisements that is run by women who give tuitions at their home at a very cheaper price. This is also because most of the families do not prefer to send their women out of the house. So many women do earn some money by teaching at home. Generally, these women teach till 10th standard. Three out of four mothers with whom I have interviewed do some home based earning in these kinds of field if it is possible for them. How did I select my participants? Earlier I myself was little nervous because I was not sure if somebody would be comfortable in talking to me or not. So, for that, I have tried to talk to those mothers who actually knew me before. That is why, I have talked to two mothers to whom I knew before as I was teaching their kids last year. And in order to contact rest two mothers whose child has some kind of disability, I have contacted through my cousin sister. That is how, it become easily accessible to me. ISSN: 2454-2725 INSTRUMENNTS USED TO COLLECT THE DATA To collect the data, I have used my phone to record the interviews of the four participants because writing on paper would have been become a problem to continue the pace with the emotions of the respondents at the same time which can only be done by an experts. During the interview, I have employed the semi- structure questionnaire format. Semi-structured Questionnaire 1. What is your everyday schedule? 2. How many children do you have? 3. Do they go to school? 4. Why does the child not go to school? 5. What is the time when you feel little free from your busy schedule? 6. Do they get to know about the complications that happened to the child when he or she was born? 7. If yes, what was the reaction of the family to deliver the child? 8. If no, then how did the child get any complication? What incident happened which is why the child is in such state of a problem? 9. What was the reaction of the family on the child’s problem? 10. What was mother’s reaction towards the child’s problem? 11. What are the challenges that the family member face initially in order to communicate with their child? 12.
