Janfam Issue 2 - Dance (printable) | Page 3

Editor's letter

Firstly, a huge congratulations on the birth of Eissa on the 3rd January 2017. Also congratulations to Jimmy Jam and Terry Lewis on being inducted into the Songwriters Hall of Fame.

The theme of Issue 2 is 'Dance'. Janet is famous for her sublime messages and powerful lyrics, but she has also gifted us with her legendary, empowering and inspiring dance moves and routines. We will explore how Janet has influenced so many to get up and dance, including her Janfam. You will find some fantastic articles, including some insightful articles with Janfam The Movement and Janet's Legacy Matters. These individuals are all devoted, committed fans working tiredlessly for Janet and us, the fans. The 'Mishay Petronelli' article will appear in a future issue. Mishay is currently working hard on some awesome projects and empowering others.

I would like to thank Janet for continously inspiring my creativity. I would also like to thank everyone who has contributed articles. Finally, as many of you will know the world lost an extremely talented dancer, choreographer and person recently, Mike Andrews, one of Janet's dancers on 'The Velvet Rope' tour in 1998. This issue is dedicated to Mike.

Shilla Patel (London, UK J-Tribe)

Welcome to the second issue of the Janfam e-zine. This online magazine is dedicated to Janet Jackson, her creative team and of course her fans. The first issue was a great success, with over 2,000 views from around the world in just only 4 months.

For Mike Andrews

Everywhere I go, Every smile I see, I know you are there, Smilin back at me,

Dancin in moonlight, I know you are free, Cuz I can see your star

Shining down on me.
