“You can't a be a dancer in the modern era without being influenced by Janet Jackson. She and her dancers have revolutionized entertainment and inspired a generation of starving dancers. Prior to joining the movement, I was affiliated with the NBA, WBNA, Kindergarten to College dance teams, and other organized groups, but I wanted more. Janfam: The Movement is a program that teaches many aspects of the dance world such as the audition process, booking an agent, and learning different styles. We're able to learn from top award-winning choreographers and get a true insight of the dance industry. The movement is more than dance workshops, it's a support group. We teach the fundamentals of not only dance, but how to be a great person. If you're seeking encouragement dance-wise or emotional, be sure to come to an event!.” -Tony Welch

“When I was a little girl I remember listening to Rhythm Nation, watching her moves, hearing her empowering message...I was forever a fan from that moment. Years later, being introduced to the JanFam: The Movement was a dream "I-Didn't-Even-Know-I-Had" come true. Like trillions of others I have been a fan of this powerhouse performer...from trying to learn the choreography from the music videos, going to the concerts and following Miss-Jackson-if-you're-nasty's style; there was a time all I wore was black...Rhythm Nation all the way!! When someone told me about the workshop...I was all in! I just wanted to be in the presence of the choreographers, listen to their stories, learn the original choreography as Janet did. I've met some pretty incredible people and collaborated with many in the short time I've been involved with The Movement. The Movement has organically formed a fambam that is amazing...it's great to be around like people. This is not just a fanbase this has become a family of sorts for those of us touched by the grooves, the strength and the joy that comes from Janet and her legacy. I feel like I have found a piece of my Pleasure Principle!” – Candis Yamamoto
