Essentially, it’s a grass roots effort designed to celebrate Janet’s career legacy and overall massive contributions to the world of music. And to serve as a constant reminder to the Nomination Committee that Janet Jackson not only deserves nomination into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame, she deserves INDUCTION as well. As an Ohio native, I had an instant connection to the museum in Cleveland.
Janet’s massive worldwide success is only a minor piece to the overall induction criteria. It’s primarily about cultural impact and influence on others…..innovation to the craft. Janet exceeds in all areas and has amazing career longevity to boot. Her induction is an absolutely no-brainer!
Once the Facebook page cracked 15,000 followers I felt like we were onto something and that #InductJanet was truly becoming a movement. There are diehard Janet fans and even some non-Janet fans following the page in support. To clarify that a bit, the ‘non-fans’ may not particularly enjoy Janet’s style of music – but they recognise and agree that Janet Jackson should be inducted.
