The Government launched the Make in India programme in 2014 , with the primary goal of making India a global manufacturing hub , by encouraging both multinational as well as domestic companies to manufacture their products within the country .
The programme aims to raise the contribution of the manufacturing sector to 25 % of the Gross Domestic Product ( GDP ) by the year 2025 from its current 15 %.
Through concerted efforts of the Government in the past three years , Make in India has made considerable effort in positioning India as a desirable manufacturing destination .
India is regarded as a stable economy in the global market place . It is also one of the fastest growing economies in the world . Make in India aims to renew investors ’ confidence in India . Sustained efforts to improve the ease of doing business will play an important role if manufacturing related investments are needed .
The recent improvement in rankings is welcome effort and the same needs to continue to improve the position further for investors to setup manufacturing units in India , thereby providing employment . www . ghmediabusiness . com
