What are your upcoming projects?

Tyler Perry’s, “Acrimony,” Starring the very talented Taraji P Henson! You can see it in theaters everywhere on March, 30th! I play the character named Casey, who is one of Taraji’s (Melinda) brother-in-laws that tries to be as supportive as possible to his wife June (Played by Jazmyn Simon), and Melinda throughout her decisions and eventual actions after feeling “used” and “betrayed” by her ex-husband Robert (Lyriq Bent). It’s going to be a wild and crazy ride; I can’t wait to see what you all think. I have also been behind the scenes working on projects. I am in the process of directing, writing, and producing so I’ll be submitting to future festivals for an upcoming short film, which we raised $23k for. The name of the short film is, “Tubby Hook” and it’s a loose story on tension between the Irish and Dominican communities living in Inwood, Manhattan. It takes place in the 1980’s. I have also written two pilot series dealing with certain common issues from an Afro Latino’s perspective. It is ready to go!

I also worked on a film directed by Aisha Tyler (Criminal Minds) called, “Axis” which was just released on streaming platforms iTunes, Amazon, and Fandango. Sam Rockwell, Emily Bett Rickards, Emmett Hughes, and Adam Rodriguez are a few of the great actors attached to this film which I am proud to be a part of.

These beautiful beaches and palm trees can be a huge distraction for me! What I truly miss the most is my friends and family who you know have your back regardless of your status, and will put you in your place if you are acting up.

Who do you look up to as an actor?

Sidney Poitier. This man paved the way for men of color in the industry through his professionalism, diligence, talent, and charm. He seems like a real stand up guy. Also, he is from the Caribbean!

What are your favorite martial arts film and why?

That is a great question and a tough one. If I had to narrow it down to one film or a franchise I would have to say Rush Hour. I love how Jackie uses clothes as well as his surroundings to maneuver, block, and attack his way throughout the film. I also enjoy the comedic elements he and Chris Tucker bring. Jackie does it with such fluidity and it’s amazing to watch. I remember just rewinding the sequences to see how certain moves were timed and executed. If I would have to compare myself to an action star, I would say I am more like a Jason Statham. He is very rough, raw, and usually uses his surroundings as well
