FA: Who is your biggest inspiration?
Why?
JM: My mom. She’s such a survivor. She
beat breast cancer a few years back and
recently had a heart attack resulting in her
having a triple bypass operation. It was eight
weeks before my wedding and she was deter-
mined to walk me down the isle, and she did.
She’s always been my source of strength and
nothing I do would be worthwhile without
her.

FA: What is your message for JAMO
readers?
JM: To always believe in yourself. You
should always be your number one fan and
source of encouragement. Love yourself
madly deeply and often. You’re more than
enough...oh, and season two of On My Block
airs in March.
FA: If you could go back in time,
what message would you give to your
younger self !!?
JM: You got this, baby! You’re doing it!
Don’t let anyone’s negativity dull your
shine. Everything you’ve dreamt of will
happen and IS happening regardless of how
many doors have been slammed in your
face telling you otherwise. Coming out to
LA will be that hardest thing you’ll ever go
through, but it’ll all be worth it.
