FA: First of all, thank you so much for be- ing on JAMO, Tell us a little about yourself and what is keeping you busy nowadays? LB:Thank you for having me! Currently, I’m, working on a book, and I’m about to start filming a project that I can’t talk about yet, but I am super excited to do it, and (sigh) lots of school! FA:Tell us about your web series “DIRT” second season? What should we be expect- ing? LB: Would you suggest watching the first season to catch up, or is the second season stand alone? I have had so much fun doing Dirt. It’s a show about teenagers, but it’s set in the world of motocross...so it’s kind of got something for both guys and girls... drama, romance and cool bikes! I definitely think you should watch the first season to really understand the second season, but season two does sort of feel like a new show because it revolves around this mystery and the stakes are life or death. Whereas the first season was a lot of high school drama! This season has a very noir feel to it! FA:What makes “Dirt” second season dif- ferent from the rest of the web series and from other BRAT productions? LB: All of BRATs projects are very unique and wonderful, and Dirt is the show that’s sort of aimed to older audiences, so that definitely sets the story line apart. We deal with some issues that might not be appropriate for the younger audiences, which sometimes takes it to kind of a dark- er place. And cinematically, our show is shot a bit different. It’s always cool to see what our amazing director and DP come up with. They have very specific ideas and shots that they want to get. It’s much dark- er, cinematically and story line wise, than I think some of the other shows, which is always fun! FA: How do you describe your experience while working on second season of “Dirt”? Being on that set is one of my favorite things in the world. I get to do what I love and push myself, and our cast and crew is so really close, so it’s like getting back together with family. Acting wise, I really got to push my limits this season because Autumn sort of downward spirals, and our director was so helpful in getting me into the head-space I needed to be in to portray her authentically. I definitely grew as an actor throughout filming this season! FA: We read that you’re an author, writing your own book. Congratulations! What inspired you to be a writer? LB: Both of my parents are authors, and so I think it’s in my blood! I also have always had so many stories in my head that I wanted to tell, and so I finally decided that I would do something with them. ISSUE 49 - 2019 January
