You Opened your First Bridal collection with your sister, did you thought that you will reach the success and earn the fame and why did you and your sister started with Bridal collection in 1985?
I started with the thought of expanding my talent and at the time the Bridal season was very popular in the Middle East.
People start designing first then making of the dress later but you were different then the others, You Knew every single & deep thing about the tailoring and putting things together to create a master piece then how you came up with drawing your collection?
The craftsmanship is the key to making any piece a success.
Since the beginning you started with Bridal wedding Gowns & then in 2001 you Launched Summer/Spring Collection called Al-Halimah which was a huge success, what was the inspiration for that collection and why did you thought of creating something else instead of Wedding Gowns?
The dreamer itself was my inspiration. Making a women ‘s dream come true on her wedding day. From there on, this inspiration lead to diverse collections as well.
You were the first Lebanese whose couture was showcased in fashion week at Alta roma, what was the feeling to be the first One and to be part of an event, which was full of competition?
It was a great opportunity to showcase my collection in Roma. It felt great to be the ambassador of the Lebanese haute Couture in Roma. I felt proud being the only Lebanese even though there were other famous designers. It was an honor.
Your brand is ruling all over Red Carpets and each female celebrities beauty enhances when they are seen in your Dress, Which Hollywood female celebrity has been your all time favorite and you have wanted to design a dress for her?
Charlize Theron is an inspirational Hollywood actress and is also a great inspiration to me.
After so many achievements, did you thought that you will be awarded for Lebanon web awards ( golden award )?
This award was an honor.
You created Halimah Collection wedding gowns in 2013 & 2014 but, so are you planning to carry on it every year because each dress from Halimah collection is totally classy and completely describes feminine?
yes Al Halimah will still be the Bridal collection.
What was the reason behind creating Ready To Wear line, what came to your mind or inspired you that you thought of starting this?
The expansion of the brand name and image to widen the horizons and the ABED MAHFOUZ fashion house.
You have three different things going on under one brand, did you thought at the beginning all this will happen, you will be having three brands?
When I started with the bridal, I got inspired by the reaction of the people and wanted to give more and more as I evolved in time and fashion.
You are a Role model and an inspiration to thousands of youngsters out there ,female admire you for your work and amazing creation but who has been your inspiration and who is your Style Icon that you still admire & why?
The elegant yet daring woman always inspires me.
What are those few important tips or advice that you have got from your family about your work that you still take it with your self?
Craftsmanship and perseverance.
Where do you see your brand in future and what are your upcoming projects, any sneak peak?
Reaching towards an international exposure that will surely be apparent in the upcoming collections.
You have seen the fashion industry and been part of it, what changes have came in it and do you believe that just like history, does fashion also repeats it self?
Fashion is a passion and it evolves while taking repeating trends in a new exciting and fresh ways.
Now there are so many well known young fashion Designers, who is your favorite and what are those few mistakes that now a days are common in fashion?
Christian Lacroix. Fashion is relative yet needs to be presented as a concept as well as a lifestyle. This translation is very important.
Lets talk about your new launch " Winter Bliss " , what is it all about and why you named it winter bliss, what makes this collection so different from the others and is it couture or ready to wear ? your fans are curious to know about it?
Winter Bliss is an inspiration form the aquatic world and the deep ends of the ocean. Winter Bliss is derived form the under water serenity and the winter winds. This association is celebrated by the mermaid look and the autumn leaves that reflecting a floating lightness that in turn translates the femininity and elegance of the ABED Mahfouz women.
