1: You carry a mixture of styles that you call “Urban Hepburn.” what has inspired you to choose this style and why?

I've always been inspired by the classics like Audry Hepburn. Her style was always so chic. But growing up in NYC I've been inspired by the urban styles, too. So I call this combination Urban Hepburn.

2: In a very young age you have been on music tours with many amazing artists, What have you learned from it?

I learned that my true passion was to create my own art. When you back up sing or perform someone else's vision it's never your own. I was inspired to write and preform my own music.

3: Tell us about your single " DIMES " and how was your working experience with " Wiz Khalifa "?

I think shooting the video with him was the best part! I got to flip the switches in the 64 Impala! Can't complain.

4: You write your own songs, some people write song to share their story while some get inspired by the others, What kind of writer are you? inspired by others or sharing your story?

A little bit of both. I'm inspired by my surroundings, sometimes I'll write about something that has just happened to me. Other times I just use my imagination to create a story.

5: New York City is not an easy place to live specially when you are in the darkest area of the city and being so passionate about music, how hard has it been for you to come so far for the mission that is music?

My parents were both musicians so music has always been in my life. I was blessed with an amazing grandfather too, who pushed me to follow my dreams as a performer.

6: There are always options in life to choose , if music was not the option what you have been today?

Hmmm, tough one. Maybe a job in fashion. Or a film director, I love creating ideas and seeing them come to life.

7: How much your family has been supportive?

My family is 100% supportive.

8: Has there ever been a moment when things got harder and you thought that let just quit?

There are always moments when I feel so far away from my goals- but it's important to remind yourself how far you've actually come with anything in your life.

9: Do you have any plans to step in the big screen?

Yes! I hope to be auditioning for film and television in the near future!

Vali is a triple threat: a dancer and an actress—but first and foremost, a singer. Her R&B-inflected tracks are an assortment of stories with sticky hooks. Vali was raised by her single mom in the Hell’s Kitchen neighborhood. “There were a lot of gangs, a lot of drugs,” she says. “I was not a kid who got to go out. Music was…safe.” And she was surrounded by it.
