Enjoy mansion tours, visits with “James” and “Dolley,” special games and activities for children, capped off by entertainment and a spectacular fireworks display over the mansion lawn. Montpelier Wine Festival Saturday, May 4 11:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. Sunday, May 5 11:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Wine Festival Admission required. Mansion tours additional $10 per person. Held annually on the grounds of Montpelier, the Festival showcases distinctive arts and crafts, specialty food vendors, live music, “cooking with wine” classes, children’s entertainment and rides, and tastings all day. Campaign Finance Conference Monday, May 6 FREE – Ticketed event, limited space available. Engage with some of the country’s leading political scientists and experts on the impact of money in politics. Does money make a difference in campaigns? Natural History Day Camp, aka Mud Camp Dolley Madison’s Birthday Celebration Send your child to the ultimate day camp experience for aspiring ecologists and outdoor enthusiasts. Mud Camp takes advantage of Montpelier’s acres of forests, fields and streams for hiking, outdoor games, crafts, learning, and play … in the mud! For rising 5th - 6th graders. Saturday, May 18 11:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. FREE Celebrate the birthday of the woman who inspired the title “first lady.” Enjoy birthday cake and punch with Dolley in the morning. Then visit the mansion for Dolley’s “birthday salon.” Free admission for anyone who shares Dolley’s name or birthday!
