PAM & FRANK EDMONDS : MEET THE CO-CHAIRS OF THE MADISON CABINET

“ Montpelier is a relatively young organization where you can make a real and impactful difference .”
— Pam Edmonds
Pam Edmonds says every visit to Montpelier teaches her something new . “ It could be a piece of art that has been newly acquired or a piece of china unearthed at an archaeological site ,” she says . “ Or it could be a story of Dolley Madison ’ s dinner guests and seating arrangements or the pieces of fabric found in the walls from a mouse ’ s nest made many , many years ago . Every historical hint is fascinating .” Pam and her husband , Frank , got involved with Montpelier after attending the Montpelier Hunt Races several years ago . “ As renovations to Montpelier progressed , I wanted to introduce Montpelier to my children , who were seeing it for the first time ,” she says . Pam , now the co-chair of the Madison Cabinet with her husband , feels the most important work done by the organization is in preserving the legacy of James Madison and the Constitution . “ It is much more than just a tour of a historical home ,” she says . “ By inviting and hosting national and international visitors learning about the Constitution and the origins of our democratic society , Montpelier has become an integral part of the study of the Constitution .” Moving forward , Pam hopes her support , and that of others , will help the Center for the Constitution expand . “ Critical conversations about the Constitution are taking place at Montpelier every day ,” she says .
