This generosity fuels the Annual Fund, providing unrestricted funding to help keep our goal—communicating James Madison’s role in creating our modern, democratic society—alive. This year: 1,651 INDIVIDUALS & $3,015,000 contributed to our goal. Thank you! was received in gifts and memberships between July 1, 2016, and June 30, 2017—7% above our goal! NANCY WOODSON SPIRE FOUNDATION—1:1 MATCHING CHALLENGE RESULTS ARE IN! Thanks to the support of the Nancy Woodson Spire Foundation and you, our donors and members, we finished the fiscal year above goal, grew Montpelier’s donor base, and strengthened our programs. $109,025 was contributed by 429 first time donors $909,102 was matched by the Nancy Woodson Spire Foundation $1,818,204 The challenge’s total impact to Montpelier $466,048 was contributed by 381 lapsed donors who rejoined $334,028 was contributed by 219 donors who increased their giving 18
