Spring 2017 CUB CLUB FUN CA LE N D AR Katie Ride, Walk & Fun Run Saturday, April 22, 2017 8 am – 3 pm Amelia Island The 13th Annual Katie Ride, Walk & Fun Run, benefitting the Katie Caples Foundation organ donor education program, offers fun for all skill levels and ages and features routes of 100 miles, 63 miles, 34 miles, 18 miles and an off-road ride through Fort Clinch State Park. In addition, there is an 8K Walk/Fun Run and a Katie Fun Mini Triathlon. Go to the event site to register for “Team Wolfson: Cranking for Kids.” Safe Kids Day at the Jacksonville Zoo and Gardens Saturday, May 13, 2017 9:30 am – 1 pm Jacksonville Zoo and Gardens This fun event will be held at the Zoo’s Play Park and Great Lawn, and will feature tables and exhibits with information about water, child passenger, bicycle, pedestrian and home safety with interactive activities for children and adults, prizes and giveaways. Presented by Florida Swimming Pool Association, NE Florida Chapter, the goal of Safe Kids Day is to celebrate children, prevent injuries and save lives. The event is held by Safe Kids Northeast Florida, led by THE PLAYERS Center for Child Health at Wolfson Children’s Hospital. Wolfson Children’s Hospital Bass Tournament May 18-20, 2017 Palatka City Docks The 28th Annual Wolfson Children’s Hospital Bass Tournament is fun for anglers, volunteers and spectators who participate in the activities surrounding the three-day tournament. In addition to being a successful fundraiser for Wolfson Children’s, it’s the second largest bass tournament in the nation, and is growing every year thanks to generous sponsors and participants. To date, the event has raised more than $4 million to aid in the educational needs of patients and staff, as well as to help with the purchase of life-saving technology.
