HOW TO PLAY – MORE DETAIL • Tagging: This is how a defensive team can stop an offensive team player. The ball carrier must stop when an opposition player ‘tags’ (touches) them with either one hand or two hands above the waist and below the shoulders. You can decide if your game has one-handed or two-handed tagging. • Fumble/Drop: If an offensive player fails to catch the ball properly (ie. fumbles and drops), or drops the ball while running, then their team restarts from the previous line of scrimmage. • FALL: If an offense player running with the ball trips over but keeps hold of the ball, play restarts from that spot. If the player drops the ball when they fall over, play restarts from the previous line of scrimmage. 16
