The Jacksonville Jaguars support hundreds of thousands of athletes each year through its youth football programs and initiatives . The programs supported by the Jaguars Foundation have provided youth football participants the opportunity to learn the game of football , get physically fit , stay involved in productive after-school activities as well as given them safe and accessible places to play .
Through our partnership with the NFL , LISC- Jacksonville and youth football associations , the Jaguars constructed 13 safe and accessible community football fields throughout Northeast Florida , with 3 having been built in the last year .
Safety being the number one priority for our youth athletes , the Jaguars partnered with Jacksonville Sports Medicine Program to introduce Project 17 , a concerted effort to place full-time certified athletic trainers at all 17 high schools in the Duval County Public School system by 2020 . The effort will create a comprehensive athletic training program geared towards sports injury prevention and care .
To celebrate youth football in our community , at this week ’ s game the Jaguars will recognize 17 local high schools by giving their athletes the opportunity to hold the flag during the national anthem , be showcased on the world ’ s largest videoboards and have two athletes from each high school participate in the halftime show with the opportunity to win $ 500 for their athletic department by completing the longest possible completion .
The Jaguars and the Foundation are committed to the growth of our young athletes by investing in their success and their futures both on and off the field .
