LOCAL VETERANS
One of the first philanthropic initiatives of
the Khan family in Jacksonville was a million
dollar commitment to the City of Jacksonville
to create the Jacksonville Veterans Resource
and Reintegration Center at City Hall. In its
first three years of operation, the Center
has supported hundreds of men, women
and their families as they transition back
to civilian life. As part of our partnership
with the City of Jacksonville, the Jaguars
Foundation provides grants to local nonprofit organizations to help the center’s
clients receive the additional support they
need. To-date, more than $100,000 has
been provided to various organizations.
Through the Jaguars Foundation’s ongoing
partnership with the City of Jacksonville,
Jacksonville Jaguars Owner Shad Khan
transferred the keys to a brand new,
specially branded van to Bill Spann, director
of the City of Jacksonville Military Affairs
and Veterans Department (MAVD), to aid in
the organization’s continued outreach to
local veterans. The van features a patriot
color scheme and images of military at
recent Jaguars games.
With Jacksonville being the third largest
military community in the nation, it is our
responsibility as the philanthropic arm of
the team to support the ones who serve and
make many sacrifices for our country.
