If losing the starting quarterback wasn’t
enough, veteran running back Adrian Peterson
went down with a serious knee injury in the
Week 2 game against the Packers. Third-year
running back Jerick McKinnon has 357 yards
on 115 carries and one rushing score, while
fifth-year back Matt Asiata has 317 yards on 96
carries and five scores for the season.
On the outside, fourth-year wide receiver
Cordarrelle Patterson has the length and speed
to be a threat, but has only 334 receiving yards
and two receiving touchdowns in 2016. He
has five career kickoff returns for touchdowns,
including one this season of 104 yards in the
Week 11 game against the Cardinals.
