Jacksonville Jaguars Community Report 2016-2017 | Page 31

The Jaguars and the Foundation have designed each program to improve youth development and character through goal setting . We have Boys 7-on-7 and Girls Flag , which encourages friendly competition while instilling inspiration through giving them the opportunity to meet with Jaguars players and staff in our facilities .
This year , Dr . Jen Welter , the first female coach in NFL history , joined the girls flag group for the weekend to share her story on how she broke into an all-male sport . She inspired hundreds of girls as they listened to her story of how she became first female running back in the game for the Revolution , to then becoming the Revolution ’ s linebacker and special teams coach and onto a 6 week internship with the Arizona Cardinals as their inside linebackers coach .
As we continue to invest in our youth , we also invest in the people around them . Parents and coaches have the opportunity to attend Mom ’ s Football Safety Clinic and Gus Bradley ’ s Coaches Clinic annually . Moms get a chance to understand how the game could be played safer and high school coaches get the opportunity to hear from the Jaguars coaching staff on their training techniques and philosophy to better improve their interactions and methods with their teams .
Through the Jaguars and Foundation programs , my hope is to continue influencing the children of our community to live with the philosophy of reaching for more and doing everything with enthusiasm , passion and purpose .
