ECE TEACHER BECOMES
AMERICAN CITIZEN
AT THE TUCSON J
Written by: Nichole Wiley, Director of Marketing, Communications & PR
Saturday, February 22, 2019 was a momentous day for 146 people
who were sworn in as American citizens at The Tucson J. We were
honored to host over 600 people on a rare, snowy morning in Tucson
for the ceremony.
One of our very own was part of this group. Kristina Li has worked
in Early Childhood Education here at The J for two years. She told us,
when she first moved to the U.S., it was difficult because she didn’t
have anyone for support. She found friends at The J and now calls
them her family.
We are proud to have you on our team, Kristina! Congratulations!!
Todd Rockoff, President and CEO, was one of the speakers during
this special ceremony, a tribute for George Washington’s birthday.
“We were honored to host a naturalization ceremony for the second
time, welcoming people to our community and into our country.
Here at The J, we are open to all people of all ages.”
Family and friends witnessed loved ones from 38 different countries
including Israel, Mexico, China, and Sudan take the oath of citizenship.
Thank you for celebrating this remarkable occasion with us and our
Tucson J family.
