IWACA Dream... Create... be who you are Autumn Issue 2014 | Page 38

As an avid sci fi fan who has read a spectrum of fictions, "Provoke Not The Children" is a refreshing read.

This book is an interesting "what if" exercise that explores what happens when a cornerstone organization of society is questioned by the under dog main character. The author makes complex legal topics easy to understand and even exciting to the reader.

The action and the imagery in this novel creates a visual picture of a disturbing, but possible future. The author describes believable characters and situations that really get you involved in the story. I had to make myself put the book down so that I could get some other work done and I really didn't want the story to end. This could be a good book for a book club discussion as it addresses several issues - the "American dream", parenting, government intervention and more. Who would have guessed that this was the author's first novel??!! I can hardly wait to read his next one!
