IVSA Hill's Student Next Generation Award
Purpose: To identify and acknowledge an exemplary young professional who has
contributed to the betterment of animal life, the veterinary profession and society.
Qualification the recipient:
• Is expected to graduate with a veterinary degree within the next 4 years
• Has an interest that focuses on companion animals
• Has an active track record in local/regional or international community
• Is socially responsible (ie part of projects that emphasize either One Health, Animal Welfare or the Human-
Animal Bond)
• Is active in professional development (ie Involved in changing the way people do clinical practice, organize
CPD etc)
• Record of public, professional or other veterinary related services
• Is a local student pioneer to bridge the gap between their generation and the others
Nomination criteria:
• letter of intent of candidate
• CV with details highlighting above qualification
• 2 letters of reference confirming essential details of CV
• Picture
Review process:
• A call is made for this award in the beginning of the year to all IVSA members. All applications are reviewed
by an IVSA committee and the best 3 candidates are chosen. The top 3 candidates are reviewed once more
by the entire committee and the winner is chosen. Incomplete applications are not considered. All IVSA
execs are excluded from participation
• The application will be open from February 10 th , 2018.
The candidates are chosen with these qualifications:
• The candidate is preferably from the region where WSAVA is held (this is not absolute)
• Has a focus mainly on companion animals
• Has an active track record in local/regional or international community
• Is socially responsible (ie part of projects that emphasize either One Health, Animal Welfare or the Human-
Animal Bond)
• Is active in professional development (ie involved in changing the way people do clinical practice, organize
CPD etc).
• The money can be used as travel money to join the WSAVA Congress. If you agree, I will contact WSAVA to
see if they can accommodate and acknowledge the recipient.
