INTERNSHIP & CONGRESS Internship & Congress Brno-Czech Rep. & Cluj-NapocaRomania 30 June – 12 Aug 2015 Sponsored by MAH-IVSA Scholarship and travel grant program. Beginning of the journey Since I was a young kid, I wanted to become a veterinarian; and I could refer that to my life growing up alongside dogs and cats at home. I was determined and got myself into the veterinary medicine department in the university. Since I started my studies as a veterinary student at An-Najah National University in Palestine, I always wanted to improve myself in the direction of small animal medicine and surgery. There is a big change which is rising up in my community towards small animals and their health. So, I was very interested in taking a part of an internship abroad to develop and invest my training and education into helping dogs and cats as much as I could and to improve the treatment of these animals. So the plan was to do an internship after I finish my fourth year of study which would be by the time of summer 2015, IVSA was my door to be able to achieve that. In early 2015, I began looking up for chances to find an opportunity for my internship abroad. I am happy that I had the help from the exchange officer of IVSA Brno – Alexandra Bulkova – who got me in contact with multiple places in Brno that offer internships in the field I am interested in. At the same time I had applied for the MAH-IVSA scholarship grant and had put all my faith into it. By: Wasseem Tahboub In the end, I got the long expected email, I had been granted the MAH-IVSA Scholarship and travel program. And everything went even better by the reply of Jaggy Clinic for small animals to my request and they were happy to have me on their clinic for the internship. After all the arrangements, I started my journey on 30th of June by arriving at Prague airport, then transportation to Brno city by bus where the clinic is. It’s been a long trip but it was very rewarding to arrive to clinic by the end. Jaggy clinic had a floor for resident doctors in which I had my accommodation arranged there.
