T he setting is in place for a magical day that you ’ ve been planning for so long . Capturing this day in photographs will allow you to cherish those precious memories in visual form and hand them down to each passing generation . Here are some tips to consider to ensure you receive the very best images to swoon over for years to come !
1 . Choose a photographer you like -
You spend so much time with your photographer on your wedding day during some very special and intimate moments . Choose someone you actually like ! In turn , you ’ ll end up more relaxed and have an enjoyable time which will inevitably be transparent in the images . Scheduling an engagement session is a perfect way to get to know each other and for you to get used to the camera !
2 . When choosing photo locations , consider the light
Photography can ’ t happen without light , and great light helps make great photos . For getting ready , choose a room that ’ s spacious with lots of windows . ( Window light is much more flattering than artificial lights .) Try to avoid scheduling portraits when the sun is high in places with little shade . Candles , lanterns , and string lights are spectacular additions to your venue .
3 . Consider an unplugged ceremony
Having phones , tablets and cameras at your ceremony can be a distraction for you and your guests , it may interfere with your photographer getting a shot or your partner seeing you walk down the aisle , but it also means that you ’ ll see cameras instead of faces in your crowd when you look back , or when you look at the photos .
4 . Be flexible , add a buffer and try to let go
Weddings never run exactly as we plan , so try to be flexible . Do what you can to add a buffer so that if / when things run late you won ’ t be stressed out or feel rushed . Try to shake things off when they don ’ t go as planned , and if you need to take a minute to gather yourself , go for it .
5 . Keep your photographer in the loop
If you ’ re planning something epic for your entrance , or changed the time of your first dance , let us know . We don ’ t want to miss any amazing moments ! •
