Chair’s Report CHAIRS REPORT A Word from the Chairman Dear Members In my job as Chair I enjoyed both the support and insight of a great group of people last year, truly an outstanding Board and one which covered the diverse spectrum of age and experience, and one which brought tremendous intelligence to the various tasks which made up their individual and collective duties. I fully expect that this year will bring an equal number of very significant challenges, but I have every confidence that the collective wisdom and experience, along with a willingness to just get the job done, will combine to overcome these. We will be assisted by a very capable staff in the National Office and I am pleased to say the level of cooperation between us has never been better. We all need to be working together and we are. Your Board has the interesting, and very challenging task of overseeing the financial viability of itSMFA while it ensures 3 itSMF Bulletin—February 2017 the delivery of programs and benefits which are valued by our members.. While we undertake these important tasks, we must also plan for the future, one in which the NFP sector continues to face many risks and competing interests. I imaging you are already aware that this year we get to celebrate our 20 th National Conference. In this we are work- ing to both enhance the Conference offer and consolidate its place as one of the best events of its type in the world. We are back in Melbourne this year, but following the model we established at the Sydney Conference and which worked so well in Brisbane. Finally, I understand that itSMF International recently forwarded you or your organisation an industry survey. I’d like to urge your participation. It will provide us with a better feel for what is happening in our international community and for our members to have a voice on the global stage. Best wishes, Bradley Busch.
