The Bulletin has a long and distinguished history with itSMF .
Now is the perfect opportunity for you to make a tangible contribution to your own industry journal . We are calling for articles from Members for publication in The Bulletin based on your direct experience .
Articles should be in the order of 800 – 1,000 words , although both shorter and longer contributions will be welcome depending on space and of course content . They may reflect your own workplace triumphs , ( or tragedies ) or relate to your analysis of issues you see playing out in the Industry .

Anup Shrestha was recruited as a PhD student to work on the project in 2012 and has since graduated in 2015 . Valuable feedback during the development , trial , and evaluation of the SMPA approach was provided by Mr Paul Fendley , Toowoomba Regional Council , and Ms Maria Canard , CITEC and their IT service staff .
“ The software-mediated process assessment ( SMPA ) is the world ' s first automated process assessment method that incorporates a decision support system in the cloud , based on international standards to measure process capability for improvement ,” Dr Shrestha said . The automated process builds on the Plan-Do-Check-Act cycle as shown in Figure 1 .

Professor Aileen Cater-Steel said “… improvements in the area of IT service would largely benefit the Australian business community due to its dependence on IT .”
“ The implementation of IT service management standards reduces IT downtime as well as improving IT service quality and customer satisfaction ” she said .
“ In addition , the project validated and helped to transition emerging standards into industry , placing Australia at the forefront of adoption and use . Results were fed back to the International Standards community further enhancing Australia ’ s reputation as a leader in IT standards development .” Professor Cater-Steel said .
The SMPA was commercialised and incorporated into assessment services by research partner Assessment Portal Pty Ltd and is currently being tested for implementation by a Foreign Exchange company in the United States . The SMPA approach has also been presented to the Tudor IT Process Assessment ( TIPA ) researchers at the Luxembourg Institute of Science and Technology ( LIST ). The TIPA framework is the most widely adopted standards-based ITSM process assessment in the world . The project team at USQ and TIPA researchers in
